As a health coach, with a considerable social media presence, I have always received a lot of questions from the public on how to train as a health coach and what it is really like to train at the renowned Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
Was it really worth it?The short answer is a resounding yes, and for many reasons.

What it is like to train at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition?
I did my health coach training program with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition back in 2017, so a few things might have changed since then. ( well, they have and for the better, but more on this later).
The course I choose was 12 months long, and it was really easy to fit into my life. The weekly schedule was showing up in my inbox every Monday and I was really excited to receive them.
Before I started my course I had already trained in Pilates, and done training in nutrition, positive psychology, and personal development, but I still found the content of the IIN course really interesting and worth it. It was like adding a new layer of knowledge and one that would bring all the other aspects of my well-being and nutrition knowledge under a big warm and holistic umbrella!
The lessons were really well structured and fitting for people who learn in different ways. The founder of the school in fact, Joshua Rosenthal has a MS in Education, and has made the whole learning process really easy to fit in for everybody, from the seasoned learner to the complete beginner.
The lectures were delivered by top-class experts in the fields of holistic health, functional medicine, nutrition, positive psychology, and more, many of which came from big Ivy League Universities like Harvard or Cornell.
Some of the top lecturers at the IIN
- Dr. Mark Hyman MD, chairman of the Institute of Functional Medicine and one of the most renowned authorities on nutrition and functional and integrative medicine.
- Dr. Frank Lipman MD. A world-renowned functional medicine MD and personal physician to Arianna Huffington.
- Dr. Deanna Minich PHD, a nutrition scientist, international lecturer, teacher, and author, with over twenty years of experience in academia and in the food and dietary supplement industries.

- Geneen Roth, one of the world’s top experts on emotional and intuitive eating.
- Gabor Mate’ MD one of the worlds top expert on trauma.
- Deepak Chopra MD, now chief wellness officer at the IIN and an expert on meditation.
The topics ranged from principles of lifestyle medicine to positive psychology and food politics.

How the IIN health coach training changed my life
First of all the first person to benefit from the teaching of this course was me. In the sense that I personally felt a shift and a transformation in my life. I am not much calmer and more self-connected than I have ever been. It gave me clarity which in turn resulted in better goals, more focus, and less effort.
It boosted my business
I was already teaching Pilates when I decided to take the leap and enroll in the IIN course. I had been teaching for a few years, here in London, to a clientele of private clients and in top studios, so I could say things were going well.
But the extra qualification really gave a boost to my existing business and much more visibility. The business tips that I received at the IIN were really helpful too.
My pre-existing food blog skyrocketed and I have been featured in many online publications and magazines and received many blogging and business awards.
I have started collaborating with Functional Medicine MDs and coached clients into diabetes remission and many other healthy transformations!
It is a learning game
Like for many other jobs in the health & wellness industry, being a health coach means undergoing continuous learning and professional development.
Would you like some mentoring?
With 14 years of working in the wellness industry under my belt, I understand the ins and out of the industry. I am available for one-to-one mentoring but if you mention my name when you enroll in the IIN health coach training course, I will throw in a couple of complimentary 30min mentoring sessions with me to help you get started with your life as a health coach!
For full disclosure as an Ambassador for the IIN, I do get a commission when someone mentions my name as a referral, but I love to give back and create a community, so if you need some support on your social media just give me a shout!
